FLAKY APPLE PASTRIES
It’s giving crisp, cinnamony apple pie, but much more fun.

Everyone needs that last minute dessert for those… last minute dinner gatherings.
I had a blast making these—and my bffs did too. It’s giving... McDonald’s apple pie but homemade (I stan their apple pies ok).
Pleasantly delightful in the morning and perfectly cozy at night (they go quick), but you can make em quick-er. 20 min tops and a ton of easy, family fun. You guys stay warm and enjoy making these with your close ones~
KALE TIP
︎ For a flaky apple pie hack, don’t cut up the pastry sheet and fill the center with apples—making a huge ‘galette’ style pastry. Boom!

cinnamon

3 tbsp dark brown sugar
1 tbsp sugar
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
cinnamon
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 400.
1. Thaw your puff pastry according to the package. Should be ~20-30 min.
2. Meanwhile wash and slice your apples, I like them relatively thin, but you can chop them too! :) I use the juiciest apples from Good Apple.
3. In a small bowl, mix together butter, sugars, and cinnamon. the consistency should be thick but spreadable. Peep the photo below for reference!

4. Cut pastry dough sheets into desired shape and transfer onto a lined baking tray, smear a thin layer of the brown butter mixture and top with apples.
5. Fold the dough over, enclosing the apples. They don't need to be perfect, and my roomies just have fun with it! Give the apples a good brush with the sugar mixture, and lightly on the dough to give it some color.

6. Bake for about 12 minutes or until golden brown. Please check your oven because I burn everything lol. I like a rustic look anyway, and they're damn tasty too!
