Iced Matcha Latte
First thing when you wake up: do something you enjoy. That way you’ll feel rewarded for getting up and going! My morning meditations never feel complete without my matcha... ok I know I sound all gwenyth paltrow right now but I dont care. This bevy right here is the biggest joy of my day, and I love making it for myself. It’s like a ceremony, but for one. Give yourself 5 whole minutes to get your greens, and thank yourself later. INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 tsp matcha
1 1/2 cup oat mylk
splash of water
optional:
1/8 tsp sunwink detox greens
DIRECTIONS
In a small bowl, add matcha and a splash of room temp water. Whisk the matcha with a bamboo whisk until the matcha is completely dissolved and the mixture becomes frothy. Tinnier bubbles on the surface indicates a higher quality matcha. Fine matcha requires less effort to foam.
If you do not have a bamboo whisk try sifting your matcha through a fine sieve and mixing with water until it’s dissolved, and there are no clumps.
Pour your matcha mixture into a cup and add in your mylk. Finish with 2 ice cubes and enjoy!

*if adding sunwink detox green powder, whisk together with matcha mixture. I’ve come to love this combo due to the detox green’s earthy and vegetal profile. I think they enhance each other and add an herbal depth to my matcha. Seriously so freaking good.
︎Matcha Lesson: The higher the quality of matcha the better the taste. There are two main types of matcha: ceremonial grade and culinary or ingredient grade. Ceremonial matcha meant for mixing with water, and carries a nice smooth finish with barely any bitterness. It is best enjoyed in it’s pure form due to its nicely mild flavor. Culinary grade matcha however, is great for baking and mixing with other ingredients. It’s not as brightly green and has more bitterness.
Unsweetened ceremonial grade matcha is often prefered but, sometimes I do like to indulge in a sweet blend matcha. I keep a variety of matcha depending on my mood that morning.
︎ Indicators of Quality Matcha:
-bright jade green color due to high levels of chlorophyll
-fresh earthly aroma that smells slightly sweet and vegetal
-feels fine and silky, like baby powder
