CONGRATS! CAKES! CONGRATS! CAKES! CONGRATS! CAKE!
CONGRATS! CAKES! Everybody pleaseeee give a big warm sexy welcome to my friends Annie and Andy as they open up their first salon here in Austin. I’m so proud of these two newcomers for betting on themselves, and creating yet another space for austin creatives to connect, mingle, and thrive.
I met Andy on set for a shoot last year and since then, we’ve exchanged countless ideas, great conversations, a few haircuts, and a couple blizzys. We’ve even hosted an event together! Anyways, y’all know I’m just a big CAKES fan (no pun intended) and visit for all my haircare needs and then some. Not only are they hair experts, Andy and Annie are genuinely exciting, open minded, and always a joy to experience.
Their charming salon/studio is located just east of downtown, in what was once a local latinx bakery, named CAKES. With a spacious front yard, we cannot wait to attend the lively pop ups they’re dreaming up. Come for the color and cut, stay for the vibes and ice cream (my favorite vegan ice cream - gati- is across the street which is just another amazing excuse to come support these two) ︎

I came by for a quick trim to discard some dead weight and left feeling quite literally elevated. I didnt even know my hair could hold such volume. It’s giving cover girl, it’s giving model!
